Core Return Policy

What is a core charge

A core charge functions as a deposit: payment is required upon placing the order, and it is refunded upon the return of the old part. Cores must be sent back within six months from the order placement date, and they should be enclosed in the manufacturer's box that comes with your new part. Return shipping for the core is your responsibility.

Before initiating the core return, ensure that it is complete, compatible with the same vehicle application as your new part, and placed in the box accompanying the replacement part. If the replacement part came with additional packaging such as a bag and zip tie, make sure to enclose the core being returned sealed in the provided packaging. While the core doesn't have to be in working condition (as it is being replaced), core credit will not be issued if it is damaged, excessively rusted, or deemed otherwise unusable.

When sending back a core, do not add it to an existing return. If the core damages the other returned items, you will not receive full value for your return.

Core refund time

Upon receiving returned cores at Rovers North, our streamlined processing ensures a prompt refund within a few days. For expeditious handling, we appreciate clearly labeled returns, as this facilitates efficient identification and minimizes processing time.

The clearer the return is labeled, and the less cleaning required to send it back to the manufacturer, the quicker we can finalize the refund process.

Unacceptable returns

In cases where returned cores are excessively dirty or damaged beyond the possibility of being rebuilt, we reserve the right to return or dispose of such items to the customer at their expense. Alternatively, to cover the additional effort required for cleaning or addressing damages, a cleaning fee may be deducted from the core charge refund.

Specific Part Return Instructions

Injection pumps
  • Ensuring a diesel injection pump is entirely free of diesel fuel before returning it is crucial to prevent potential hazards and maintain safety standards. Begin by disconnecting all fuel lines and thoroughly draining any remaining fuel from the pump and associated components. Carefully inspect the pump for any residual fuel, using absorbent materials if needed to remove any lingering traces.

Additionally, consider flushing the pump with a suitable solvent to eliminate any remaining fuel residue. This not only reduces the risk of fire hazards during transportation but also prevents contamination of the packaging.
  • Carefully place the cleaned diesel injection pump into the provided plastic bag, seal it securely with the included zip tie, and then pack it snugly in the original box for safe and secure mailing.
  • Caution must be exercised to avoid placing the returning diesel injection pump with other items in the package, as spilled diesel fuel can potentially damage other contents. The distinct possibility of leakage poses a risk of harm to adjacent items and may result in additional fees or the invalidation of the entire return. To ensure a smooth and problem-free return process, it is advised to ship the diesel injection pump separately, taking necessary precautions to prevent any leakage or damage during transit.
Cylinder Head
  • Cylinder heads will be tested to ensure they are rebuildable. This may take 3-4 weeks to process.
  • If a head requires repair beyond the normal rebuild process the repair cost will be deducted from the core credit refund.
