This swivel ball rebuild kit is designed to update early Series II Land Rovers with the steering arm mounted to the top of the swivel housing from a spring and cone top pin to a railko bush top pin assembly for improved steering. This kit rebuilds one side only. Kit includes: Conversion top pin, railko bush with bottom wafer, shims for top pin, bottom bearing with race, O ring seal for steering arm, top and bottom locking tabs, swivel ball gasket, spindle gasket, hub gasket, swivel ball oil seal and retainer for the swivel ball seal.
FITS: LH, or RH side Series II- IIA with steering arm mounted to the top of the swivel ball 1959 - 1962
NOTE: For best results soak the railko bush and railko bottom wafer overnight in 75-90 gear oil. Always lubricate swivel balls that use a top pin with railko bush assembly with 75-90 wt. oil. Do not use grease, or Land Rover grease packs as they will fail to adequately lubricate the railko bush assembly. Also avoid fitting front locking hubs. Operating with locking hubs in the unlocked position starves critical components of lubrication, resulting in accelerated swivel ball, railko bush and front propshaft wear.
